About Chris Ramsey

I’m Chris Ramsey, an Essex-based photographer with a passion for capturing people, moments and stories through photography.

I’ve been working in photography since 2005, specialising in portraiture, music and sports photography. Over the years, my work has taken me into a wide variety of environments, from live music venues and football stadiums to portrait sessions, giving me the opportunity to work with some incredible people and organisations.

My music photography has seen me photograph artists and bands including Paramore, New Found Glory, McFly, Maxïmo Park, Beverley Knight, Robyn and Bloc Party, capturing both the energy of live performances and the personalities behind the music.

Sport has become another important part of my work, particularly women’s football. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph extensively across the Women’s Super League (WSL), working with clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion. I’ve also been fortunate enough to photograph Tottenham Hotspur’s first team and club legends, experiences that have allowed me to work in some fantastic sporting environments and capture everything from the intensity of competition to the moments away from the pitch.

I hold a BA (Hons) Photography degree from University College Falmouth, where I developed my technical knowledge and creative approach to photography.

For me, photography is about more than simply taking a picture. It’s about finding the right moment, capturing personality and creating images that tell a story. Whether it’s an artist performing to thousands of people, a footballer in the middle of a crucial moment, or a portrait of someone away from the spotlight, I’m always looking for images that feel authentic, natural and memorable.

After more than two decades behind the camera, I’m still driven by the same thing that attracted me to photography in the first place: the opportunity to tell stories through great images.
